What to Do If You Suspect a Snake
1. Stay calm – Keep your pet as still as possible to slow the spread of venom.
2. Get your pet in the car immediately. Do not delay seeking care. Call our hospital on your way:

Inform us you’re on the way with a suspected snake bite case so we can prepare for your arrival.
Act fast – Time is critical for snake bites. The sooner treatment starts, the better the chance of survival.
Never try to catch or kill the snake. Your pet's health is the priority!
Clinical Signs of a Snake Bite
Snake bites can be deadly, and symptoms may develop quickly.
Watch for the following signs in your pet:

Sudden weakness or collapse (sometimes followed by a temporary recovery)

Trembling or shaking

Lethargy or difficulty walking

Vomiting or drooling

Dilated pupils or difficulty seeing
