Introducing Thomas

We have a new member of staff to introduce, Thomas Joseph Morgan Keough! Dr Alex’s little boy arrived on her birthday to join his three older sisters.

Thomas had a few hiccups early on, being born with some lung issues and then suffering a bilateral pneumothoracies (collapsed lungs) and was airlifted to NICU at Canberra Hospital. He spent two weeks being in NICU before returning to Wagga.

Happily all is now well and he is home and thriving.

Puppy Blood Donors

Both Nurses Kyla and Brooke were on hand to take blood from some puppy donors recently.

They must have done amazing jobs as their puppy donors look pretty chilled.

The blood they took has been used to assist some clients lately who have not been well. Let’s hope the blood donations help.

Australian Vet Conference 2019

While over in Perth Dr Beth & nurse Shayne participated in a small animal dental workshop at Murdoch University. The workshop included international Diplomat Jerzy Gawor and Australian Veterinary Dental Societies Dr. Anthony Caiafa tips on removing fractured teeth, nerve blocks (just like humans get before our tooth is removed) and using the IM3 Vet-tome. The Lake Road team can use our dental x-ray machine and the vet-tome to accurately remove fractured or damaged teeth with reduced bone loss and less trauma compared to traditional methods.
